: Rushmi Chakravarthi and Sanaa Bhambri lost to the second-seeded Yi Chen of Chinese Taipei and Sakiko Shimizu of Japan 4-6, 4-6 in the semifinals of the $10,000 ITF women's tennis tournament in Pattaya, Thailand.

The third-seeded Indian pair had scraped through 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 in the first round against Mi-Rae Ham and Hyun-Hui Hong of Korea before outclassing Trang Huynh Phuong Dai of Vietnam and Ting-Fei Juan of Chinese Taipei 7-6(1), 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

In singles, Sanaa Bhambri lost in the pre-quarterfinals to the seventh-seeded Sakiko Shimizu of Japan 3-6, 1-6. The second-seeded Poojashree Venkatesh also did not cross the second round and lost 2-6, 2-6 to Peangthan Pliphuech of Thailand.
