: Rupesh Roy and Treta Bhattacharya won the men’s and women’s singles titles in the fourth Netaji Subhash State Games here on Friday. The men’s doubles title went to the team of Vinod Sewa and Saurav Sukul, while the women’s crown was won by Amrita Mukherjee and Dipti Srivastava.
Central Kolkata and Hooghly won the men’s and women’s team gold in table tennis. Sumit Kumar Das and Survi Patwari of South Kolkata bagged the men’s and women’s individual titles.
Garden Reach Club won gold in the men’s category in the volleyball final. Bally Deshbandhu Club lifted the women’s crown. Kolkata Baseball Club clinched gold in baseball while Kalyani BC won silver.
South 24 Parganas district won the men’s team championship in gymnastics, while Howrah topped the women’s team event. Pratip Das and Pranati Das of South 24 Parganas won the individual men’s and women’s gold medals.
The swimming events saw new State records being set in the 1500m men’s freestyle and 200m women’s breaststroke events. Sanu Debnath of North 24 Parganas won the 1500m freestyle by setting a time of 17:09.84s, which eclipsed his previous best of 17:45.06s. Sayani Ghosh of Howrah won the 200m breaststroke gold with a timing of 3:08.30s, bettering the previous record of 3:08.72s set by Risha Singha. — Principal Correspondent
