SSC (Black) wins the Bison Cup
Sunendra Sports Club (Black) won the Bison Cup with an 11-9 win over SSC (Green) in the penalty shoot-out final of the Hyderabad Polo Season at the Bison Polo grounds here on Wednesday.
Both the captains — Dhruvpal Godara (SSC Black) and Abhimanyu Pathak (SSC Green) — agreed to decide the issue via penalty shoot-out due to rain.
The result: Final: SSC (Black) 11 (S. Wadhawan 1, Surya Bahadur Thapa 1, Panchal 4, Dhruvpal Godara 5) bt SSC (Green) 9 (Kaushik Kumar 4, Tejveer Singh Jhala 1, D.S. Jodha 2, Abhimanyu Pathak 2).
Absolom scalps six
Medium-pacer Alfred Absolom's six for 56 for State Bank of Hyderabad was the highlight of its drawn encounter against Andhra Bank in the A Division (three-day) league cricket championship match curtailed by rain here.
The scores: A Div. (three-day) league: SBH 225 & four for one drew with Andhra Bank 175 (N. S. Arjun Yadav 33, Alfred Absolom six for 56).
Sama Sathwika of Hyderabad defeated Citymate Sai Dedeepya 6-0, 6-1 in the under-14 singles semifinals and Jithasha Shastri 6-0, 6-2 in the under-16 semifinals of the Super Series tennis tournament in Ahmedabad.
The Hyderabad girl also made it to the under-16 doubles semifinal partnering Harshar. The pair downed Ishwari and Shristhi 6-0, 6-2.
Loyola in semifinals
Loyola College scored a solitary goal win over CMRCET to enter the semifinals of the fourth Sachdev Sports Cup inter-collegiate football tournament.
RDT FC (Anantapur) also made it to the last-four stage with a 2-1 win over Wesley Junior College.

OU coaching camps
The Osmania University women’s basketball coaching camp will be held at the RBVR College (Narayanaguda) at 6.30 a.m. from Sept. 20. All the players should report to coaches Pruthviraj and Anuradha at the venue.

Prasanth slams ton
D.B. Prasanth Kumar’s 124 for South Zone-1 was the highlight of the drawn encounter against North Zone-1 in the ACA senior inter-zonal tournament here on Wednesday.
The scores: North Zone-1 324 and 173 in 43.2 overs (Sumanth 46, Bhaskar Reddy five for 32, Naresh three for 53) drew with South Zone-1 118 and 183 for eight in 57 overs (D.B Prasanth Kumar 124, Sankar Rao five for 72).
Good knock by Jayawardhane
Jayawardhane’s unbeaten 73 helped ACA XI to score 151 for four in the second innings against Central Zone in the ACA inter-zonal under-19 tournament at CSR Sarma College grounds here on Wednesday.

A badminton academy is to be set up near Kanuru in Vijayawada by the PVP Group of Companies with former all England champion Pullela Gopichand.
“The academy will be called PVP-Gopichand Badminton Academy. It will cater to the needs of the badminton lovers of the coastal Andhra Pradesh,” said Group chairman Prasad V. Potluri on Wednesday.
