K. Suneri of Chennai won the women’s doubles and mixed doubles titles in the senior State ranking badminton tournament held at Sri Ramana Sport town here on Sunday.

Kannan in sole lead

Sa. Kannan of Karaikudi emerged sole leader with 6.5 points at the end of the seventh round of the first Teekay International FIDE-rated chess tournament at Holy Cross Engineering College here on Sunday. Four players, including Asian under-8 champion R. Praggnanandha of Bloom Chess Academy (Thiruvallur), top seed M. Paramasivam of Aruppukottai, P. Uma Maheswaran of Madurai and local boy V. Vishwa Anand, are trailing the leader by half a point.
