B.N.S. Reddy, Joint Commissioner of Police, Bangalore City, claimed five titles in the Karnataka State Police annual sports meet that concluded here on Saturday.

Reddy topped tennis (both singles and doubles), billiards, snooker and table tennis doubles events.

Incidentally, Reddy won the tennis singles title for the 25th time after defeating Rajendra Prasad, Superintendent of Police, Chamarajanagar, 6-4, 6-4.

Easy for SAI ‘C’

SAI ‘C’ scored a 6-1 victory Ideal SC ‘B’ in the ‘B’ Division hockey league at the KSHA Stadium here on Saturday.

SAI ‘C’ 6 bt Ideal SC ‘B’ 1; HMT 5 bt Naveen HC 1; Coorg HA 10 bt Rainbow HC 1.

Shagnik sizzles

In a thrilling final, Shagnik (66 n.o. & two for 42) helped Canara High School (Urwa) win the KSCA-DELL inter-school cricket tournament at the Nehru Maidan in Mangalore, defeating Milagres High School by one wicket on Saturday.

The scores:

Milagres HS 164 for eight in 40 overs (Sushanth 34, Sheik Zaki 33) lost to Canara HS, Urwa 167 for nine in 38.4 overs (Shagnik 66 n.o., Hitesh four for 25).

Karthik dazzles

In Manipal, Karthik’s all-round show (32 and five for 21) helped SMS Brahmavar defeat Christian HS Udupi by 53 runs in the Dell KSCA inter-school tournament match on Saturday.

The scores:

SMS Brahmavar 146 for eight in 30 overs (Karthik 32, Swagath four for 20) bt Christian HS Udupi 93 in 23.3 overs (Karthik five for 21).

Christian HS Udupi 134 for six in 30 overs (Vachan 52, Nikhil three for 29) bt Govt. Composite HS Volakadu 102 in 18 overs (Chandrashekhar 44, Vachan four for six).
