Qualifier Raveena Kingsley of the US dashed the hopes of the second-seeded Sri Vaishnavi Peddi Reddy with a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the girls’ pre-quarterfinals of the ITF grade ‘III’ junior tennis tournament at the CLTA Complex here on Wednesday.
The Indian hopes, however, were kept alive by Simran Kaur Sethi and Snehadevi Reddy who made the quarterfinals. In the boys’ section, Sahil Deshmukh was the only Indian in the quarterfinals and was left with the tough task of challenging the top-seeded Lee Duck Hee of Korea.
