Suresh Rana maintained his position at the top after the third day of the Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm that passed through the Thar terrain on Thursday.

Rana of Team Maruti drove his Grand Vitara aggressively to open up a lead of 15.14 minutes over Chandigarh’s Sunny Sidhu.

Vijay Parmar (Shimla) enjoyed a lead of 2.01 minutes over Mohit Verma in Xtreme (Moto).

On a day when 25 per cent of the participants bowed out of competition due to extremely tough desert conditions, Parth Beniwala led K. Prasad by 1.32 minutes in the Ndure category which follows the Xtreme route in the Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) format.

In Rally Xplore, that follows the TSD format on a separate route, Sanjay Takale was 11 seconds ahead of Satish Gopalkrishnan.
