THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dayala Ram Jat (North Western) hogged the limelight with two gold medals on the third day of the 47th all-India inter-railway cycling championships at the LNCPE velodrome, Kariyavattom, on Monday.
Jat won the 4000m individual pursuit title with a time of 5:13.25 and also clinched the 20-km point race gold with 43 points.
Eastern Railway and Southern Railway shared the other two gold medals which were decided on Monday, winning the 1000m sprint and 4000m team pursuit crowns respectively.
Men: 1000m sprint: 1. Kh. Probin Singh (Eastern) 12.35s, 2. H.S. Prince (Southern) 12.42s, 3. R.L. Mahesh (South Central) 12.50s.
4000m individual pursuit: 1. Dayala Ram Jat (North Western) 5:13.25, 2. Dayala Ram Saran (Southern) 5:18.04, 3. Jagdeep Singh (Northern) 5:22.23.
4000m team pursuit: 1. Southern Railway 4:59.23, 2. Eastern Railway 5:03.32, 3. South Western Railway 5:00.45.
20-km point race: 1. Dayala Ram Jat (North Western) 43 points, 2. Lakkappa Kurni (South Western) 34, 3. Ramesh Sindage (South Western) 23. — Special Correspondent
