PALANI: Top seed R. Preetham Sharma of Southern Railway, Chennai, was held to a draw by V.M. Rajeev of Kerala in the second round of the second annual FIDE-rated open chess tournament conducted by VPM Trust and Palani Jothi Chess Academy here on Monday.

At the end of the second round, nine players shared the lead with two points each.
