NEW DELHI: Veteran off-spinner Kulamani Parida, architect of many a win, will sit out as Railways shows more faith in pace than spin in the Ranji Trophy plate group match against Madhya Pradesh starting at the Karnail Singh Stadium on Thursday.
In a move that may surprise many, the host has preferred some grass on the pitch and will bank on the strength of its four seamers Harvinder Singh, Santosh Saxena, Jai Prakash Yadav and Sanjay Bangar.
The lone spinner in the Railways team would be Murali Kartik with middle-order batsman Sushant Manjrekar set to make his first-class debut.
Madhya Pradesh is expected to play three seamers too along with leg-spinner Yogesh Golwalkar. The thrust for the team, however, would come from the experienced trio of skipper Abbas Ali, Amay Khurasiya and Devendra Bundela. Special Correspondent
