Defending champion Railways and strong favourite Jharkhand became the first teams to secure quarterfinal spots at the women’s National hockey championship here on Sunday. Both dominated their opponents completely and registering huge wins to remain unbeaten in the league stage.
Railways beat Tamil Nadu 16-0 in its last Pool A game, riding on a five-goal burst by Jasjeet Kaur. In Pool C, Jharkhand went one better and thrashed Goa 17-0. Nisha Rani Aind scored five goals while Anita Swansi slotted in three.
