Pune FC opened its I-League football campaign at home in style, defeating 10-man Mohun Bagan 2-0 in a fourth round match here on Thursday.

Second-half strikes by substitute Thongkhosiem Haokip (72nd minute) and winger James Meyer (81st) handed Pune FC full three points.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men after defender Celestine Anyiche received the marching orders after being shown a second yellow card in the 53rd minute.

Pune FC now has seven points from three games while Mohun Bagan has two points from the same number of games. — PTI
