The 26th all-India Postal hockey tournament will be held at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium from January 21 to 24.

Five teams will take part in the four-day tournament which will be played on round robin league. The top two teams will contest in the final and the next two teams for the third and fourth places.

Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are the five teams taking part in the tournament. Kerala, which is hosting the tournament for the first time, is not fielding a side in the tournament as it doesn’t have a hockey team.

P. Nandakumaran, the chairman and MD of SBT will inaugurate the tournament.

A fine all-round performance by Anasthaha enabled Yorkshire CC to defeat Zones CC by three wickets in the Kollam district ‘A’ division cricket league here on Saturday.

Anasthaha took three for 31 as Zones CC was bundled out for 147 runs and later, he top-scored with 39 as Yorkshire reached the target for the loss of seven wickets. In another match, IPO ‘B’ crushed Town Club by 138 runs.

Zones CC 147 in 35.3 overs (Dishnu Raj 50, Nazeem four for 13, Anasthaha three for 31) lost to Yorkshire CC 148 for seven in 35.2 overs (Anasthaha 39, Manaf four for 40).

IPO ‘B’ 250 in 40 overs (Nijesh 58, Sreemon 56, Sarath 53) bt Town Club 112 in 22.1 overs (Rajesh 31, Jithu four for 28, Jiji four for 11).
