Poojashree Venkatesh and Jessy Rompies of Indonesia defeated Yumi Miyazaki and Tomoko Taira of Japan 6-2, 7-5 in the doubles final of the $10,000 ITF women's tennis tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday.

In singles, Poojashree lost in the quarterfinals to her doubles partner Rompies 6-5, 7-6(4). She had beaten Yang Zi of China 6-2, 6-3 in the pre-quarterfinals and Zhang Nan Nan of China 6-0, 6-4 in the first round.

Sheetal Goutham was the only other Indian to make the singles second round, but lost 7-6(3), 6-3 to Yuka Higuchi of Japan. She beat Rahmawati Ulfa of Indonesia 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 in the first round.

The other Indian girls, Shivika Burman, Sharmada Balu, Kyra Shroff and Treta Bhattacharya lost in the first round.
