NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday said the Government would provide its complete support to make the 2010 Commonwealth Games a success.

At a meeting with the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games (OCCG) Chairman, Suresh Kalmadi, Mr. Singh said national prestige was at stake and the Government supported the Organising Committee.

Mr. Kalmadi assured the Prime Minister that the OCCG had capable persons and the team was working round-the-clock to ensure successful conduct of the Games.

The OCCG Chairman informed Mr. Singh about the recent security conference for the Heads of Missions and the international security liaison conference to be held in the Capital from Wednesday.

Mr. Kalmadi briefed the Prime Minister about the launch of the Queen’s Baton Relay from the Buckingham Palace in London on October 29.

“I never had doubts about the Government’s commitment to the Commonwealth Games and I came out very satisfied after the meeting,” said Mr. Kalmadi.
