A photo and video exhibition depicting the life and times of athletics legend P.T. Usha will be held at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium here from October 30 to November 3 under the auspices of the Usha School of Athletics.
Talking to The Hindu on Friday, Usha, who was in the city to oversee preparations, said the exhibition was being arranged by giving in to demands which had come to her from several quarters over the last couple of years.
“Several people have approached me regarding this over the last couple of years or more with an aim of spreading my achievements at the international level among the younger generations. The exhibition, I hope, will also teach our young about the possibilities of making it big in the world of sports taking inspiration from my achievements despite hailing from a remote village and a middle-class family.”
Arrangements were also afoot, she said, to hold the same exhibition in Kochi, Kozhikode, Chennai, Mumbai and Ranchi besides a few cities in the Middle East countries.
The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, will inaugurate the exhibition on October 30.
