MUMBAI: Maharashtra's Parth Shah sweated it out at the Practennis courts before getting past Tamil Nadu's Karan Kurup in three sets 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 for an entry into the boys under-14 second round of the All India National Series Tennis Tournament 2007 (co-sponsored by DHFL and IOC) on Monday.

Top seed Rohit Bisht (Delhi) downed Statemate Siddharth Sharma 6-1, 6-2 as the main draw commenced.

Sharan Patil (Karnataka) faced a gritty opponent in Maharashtra's Milind Seth before winning in three sets.
