World champions Yogesh Pardeshi and I. Illavazhagi asserted their class to clinch the individual gold medals in the 14th SAARC carrom championship held in Colombo.

India swept all the seven gold medals at stake, including the team and mixed doubles events, apart from bagging two silver medals and a bronze.

Yogesh Pardeshi and Prakash Gaikwad entertained everyone by scoring 11 slams between them.

Bangladesh surprised Sri Lanka to bag the men's team silver while Sri Lanka won the women's team silver ahead of Maldives.

The results: Finals: Men: Yogesh Pardeshi bt B. Radhakrishnan 25-16, 25-3; Third place: Prakash Gaikwad bt Sherifddin (Sri) 25-5, 25-4.

Doubles: Yogesh Pardeshi and B. Radhakrishnan bt Chamil Cooray and Nishant Fernando (Sri) 25-11, 25-14.

Women: I. Illavazhagi bt Kavita Somanchi 25-24, 25-11; Third place:Roshita Joseph (Sri) bt Aisath Fainaz (Mld) 25-19, 25-0.

Doubles: I. Illavazhagi and Rashmi Kumari bt Roshita Joseph and Chalani (Sri) 25-5, 25-4.

Mixed doubles: Prakash Gaikwad and Kavita Somanchi bt Sherifddin and Madhushika (Sri) 25-13, 25-7 .
