Palakkad defeated Idukki by seven wickets in the Central Zone under-22 inter-district cricket tournament at the Fort Maidan, here on Tuesday.
Idukki, which started 99 runs in arrears, didn't fare any better in the second innings and was dismissed for 143. Krishna Kumar (four for 19), Anwar (three for 25) did the damage with the ball. Needing 44 for a win, Palakkad reached the target for the loss of three wickets.
The Thrissur-Ernakulam match in Central Zone ended in a draw with Thrissur taking the honours for the first innings lead.
In South Zone matches at Kottayam, the Thiruvananthapuram-Alappuzha encounter ended in a draw.
The highlight of the last day's play was Shajan Salim's century (143).

In North Zone matches at Thalassery, Kasargod took the honours against Kannur. Anfal struck a century as Kasaragod took a massive first innings lead.
But defiant second innings batting enabled Kannur to draw the match.
