Mysore: ONGC, Gujarat and KSP, Bangalore won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the Mayor’s Cup all-India invitation kabaddi tournament 2010 conducted at the Town Hall grounds here on Sunday.

In the men’s final, allround play by Jasvir helped ONGC, Gujarat beat Red Army, Delhi 23-8 and clinch the title. The winner took home Rs.100,000 along with the cup.

In the women’s final, KSP, Bangalore beat West Bengal 52-16 to clinch the title. The winner took home the cup and Rs.75,000.

The results: Men: Final: ONGC, Gujarat bt Red Army, Delhi 23-8. Semifinals: ONGC, Gujarat bt UP, Police 38-15; Red Army bt HAL, Bangalore 13-12 (6-6 fulltime; 12-12 after extra five raids) won by golden raid.

Special Prizes: Men: Best catcher: Jagadish Kamble, Red Army, Delhi; Best raider: Gopalappa, HAL, Bangalore; Best allrounder: Manpreet Singh, ONGC, Gujarat.

Women: KSP, Bangalore bt West Bengal 52-16. Semifinals: KSP, Bangalore bt Mahalakshmi, Kholapur 49-8; West Bengal bt Matha, Bangalore 31-21.

Special Prizes: Best catcher: Sampa Baira, West Bengal; Best raider: Yamuna Shree-Matha, Bangalore; Best allrounder: Jayanthi, KSP, Bangalore.
