ONGC entered the final of the 29th PSPB inter-unit hockey tournament in dramatic fashion, scoring two late goals to prevail 4-3 over IOCL.

The teams were level on 2-2 when Deepak Thakur appeared to have won it for IOCL with his 63rd minute goal. But Diwakar Ram struck twice in the last four minutes to clinch the game for ONGC, also bringing up his hat-trick in the process.

ONGC looked to be heading out even before Thakur's effort, trailing 2-0 to goals by Inderjit Singh and Prabhjot Singh before Ram and Vivek Gupta scored to bring their team level. In Friday's final, ONGC will lock horns with BPCL, who eased past GAIL 2-0 in the other semifinal.

The results:

Semifinals: BPCL 2 (Amar Aiyamma 4, Ajay Saroha 16) bt GAIL 0; ONGC 4 (Diwakar Ram 41, 67, 69, Vivek Gupta 48) bt IOCL 3 (Inderjit Singh 39, Prabhjot Singh 40, Deepak Thakur 63) . — Sports Reporter
