A captain's knock of 99 by M.U.B. Sridhar helped North Zone gain the first innings lead over Central Zone on the first day of a three-day match of the ACA inter-zone under-19 cricket tournament, here on Wednesday.

Put into bat, Central Zone was all out for 170 in 52.3 overs with Shajahan scoring an unbeaten 78 and Krishna Babu making 43. In reply, North Zone was 183 for three in 37 overs at close with Sriram unbeaten on 99 and Bharat 65 not out.
