Nimmy A. George posted her third successive victory in the Kerala State women's chess championship at the Banerji Club here on Saturday evening.

The top-seeded Nimmy, who missed the State championship last year as she had to write her college exams, defeated Thrissur's C.P. Athira in the third round and is the championship's lone leader with two rounds to go.

Meanwhile, defending champion Anjana Krishna drew her third-round game against her Thiruvananthapuram city-mate Meenu Rajendran.

Second round: Nimmy George bt R. Aparna, A. Neenu lost to A. Niji, Meenu Rajendran bt S.L. Parvathy, Alka Raj lost to C.P. Athira, Aswathy Balagopal bt Sneha Merine Shaji .
