Nikhat Zareen wins silver

Former junior world champion Nikhat Zareen (54kg) had to settle for silver after going down to Yunzi Yuan of China in the final at the AIBA Women's Youth World Boxing Championships in Albena, Bulgaria.

The 17-year-old had earlier defeated Viktoriya Virt of Ukriane in the semifinals. Zareen was looking to win her second world title.

Two other Indians took bronze after losing their respective semifinals. Simranjit Kaur went down to Aidana Arapbayeva of Kazakhstan in the lightweight category in the youth championships. In the junior championship, Asha Roka lost to Assyl Askarova of Kazakhstan in the 48kg category.
