Around 33 state and institutional units will be seen in action in the 58th senior men’s and 16th women’s National wrestling championships which will be held here at the Khusdiram indoor stadium from November 15 to 17.

Though Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt, will be skipping the meet because of injuries, the organiser — West Bengal Wrestling Association — said other notable wrestlers from the country will be making it to the event.

Among the prominent wrestlers who will be representing various units include Amit Kumar Dahiya and Bajrang.

The organisers are also expecting the participation of the only Indian woman Olympian Geeta Poghat. Around 1, 000 wrestlers are expected to participate in the meet which will have contests in Free Style and Greco-Roman in different weight categories for men and only in Free Style section for women. — Principal Correspondent
