BANGALORE: Nationals FC carved out an odd goal in three win over Dharmaraja Union, with all the three goals coming in a three minutes blitz before half-time, in an ‘A’ division football league tie here on Wednesday.

In a match played in steady rain, it was Dharmaraja Union that forged ahead with R. Sandeep netting in the 32nd minute. But Nationals struck back almost immediately through K. Rajeev Verma and minutes later Robin D’Souza scored, in what turned out to be the match winner.

In another ‘A’ division match played earlier, Universal FC routed Sri Gajanana 5-1. Suresh Babu started the scoring spree in the 29th minute before Somu B (71st), Velu (84th) and Sunil (89th and 91st) consolidating. Murali pulled one back for Sri Gajanana in the 65th minute.

Today’s fixtures were the first for all four teams.
