Bengal boys and Chhattisgarh girls will defend their titles in the 40th National sub-junior basketball championship to be played at the Patliputra Sports Complex here, from August 18 to 25.
The tournament, being played on a league-cum-knock-out basis, features 24 boys and 21 girls teams.
The league matches will also be played at the two indoor courts of the Bihar Military Police facility.
The CEO of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), Roopam Sharma expressed appreciation of the initiative taken by the Bihar Basketball Association in developing the game in the region by hosting the championship. — Special Correspondent
