BANGALORE: Army Service Corps edged past Madras Engineering Group 3-2 in the Tier II phase of the Synergy Super Division league hockey tournament underway at the KSHA stadium here on Wednesday. Bishra Aind (8th) and Sanjay Tete (15th) put ASC quickly up by two goals but Dinesh Tirkey (23rd) took MEG to 1-2 at the half time. Deepu (52nd) notched up ASC’s third goal and Poovanna (69th) scored off a penalty corner for MEG.

In another match, Army Green beat Sports Authority of India 4-1. Sanjeev Singh (11th, 33rd & 67th) scored a treble and Anulup Kullu (62nd) broke Sanjeev’s run of goals. Nitin Thimmaiah (64th) scored for SAI.
