Mukherjee takes over as CAB chief

KOLKATA: The commissioner of the city police, Prasun Mukherjee, formally took over as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal on Thursday. The position was left vacant after Jagmohan Dalmiya resigned from the post following his life expulsion from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Mr. Mukherjee was elected unopposed in the absence of another candidate, when the nominations were scrutinised on the last day of filing nominations on January 24. But the formal declaration was made on Thursday following CAB's special general meeting. Principal Correspondent
