Madhya Pradesh defeated Uttarakhand 2-0 and qualified for the quarterfinal league phase of the 67th Santosh Trophy National football championship on Saturday.

The goals came through K. Gobind Singh (45th) and Javed Manihar (49th) as Madhya Pradesh topped the qualifying round II’s Cluster ‘D’ with 10 points from three wins and a draw.

Madhya Pradesh will join defending champion Services in the quarterfinal round’s Group ‘A’ and will play its first match on February 22 in Kochi.

Kerala leg from today

The Kerala leg gets underway at the Lal Bahadur stadium in Kollam on Sunday when Karnataka takes on Himachal Pradesh in a Cluster B match.

Meanwhile, Kollam will stage matches in Cluster ‘A’ and ‘B’ as well as two quarterfinal groups.

The groupings at Kollam: Cluster ‘A’: Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Nagaland.

Cluster ‘B’: Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Daman & Diu, Bihar.
