Fifth-seeded Mohit Mayur (Tamil Nadu) ended the run of third seed Vinod Sridhar (Tamil Nadu) with a 7-5, 6-3 win in the quarterfinals of Central Excise Open AITA grass-court tennis here on Thursday.

Continuing the trend, seventh-seeded Ronak Manuja (Maharashtra) downed fourth-seeded Ajai Selvaraj (Tamil Nadu) while top seed Nitten Kirrtane managed to squeeze home in three sets against unseeded Elwin Anthony of Tamil Nadu.

In the women’s section, seventh-seeded Treta Bhattacharya (Bengal) prevailed over Statemate and second seed Amrita Mukherjee in a match that stretched to the decider.
