Meanwhile, in Shillong’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium host Rangdajied United was held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Goa giant Salgaocar SC in a ninth round encounter on Tuesday.
Rangdajied opened up a 2-0 lead with striker David Ngaite finding the target twice inside 30 minutes. Salgaocar worked its way back into the game when Frenchman Claude Gnakpa nodded home a corner in the 39th minute to make it 2-1. Substitute Gilbert Oliveira scored the equaliser late in the 89th minute to help Salgaocar salvage a point.
The Goa team remained on top of the table with 17 points from eight matches, while Rangdajied remained at the bottom with three points from eight games.
