Mansher Singh shot 121 out of 125 in trap but missed out on a berth in the knock-out stage in the shoot-off in the shotgun World Cup in Al Ain, UAE, on Thursday.
Mansher was tied with six others on 121 for one spot in the semifinals, and lost the shoot-off early, as he missed the second bird. After two perfect rounds the previous day, Mansher had rounds of 24, 24 and 23 on the second day of the trap competition.
Two-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Diamond of Australia was also eliminated in the shoot-off.
In contrast, Aaron Heading of Britain went on to clinch the gold medal, as he beat Giovanni Pellielo of Italy 13-11.
