JAIPUR: Olympian Mansher Singh and Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal won the trap and skeet gold medals respectively in the fifth Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi memorial Masters shooting championship which concluded at the OASES ranges here on Wednesday.
Reigning National champion Mansher was tied with Zorawar Singh Sandhu at 136, but won the eventual tie-shoot four to three. Birendeep Singh Sodhi came third two points behind while Olympian Anwer Sultan was fifth with a 132 out of 150.
Jindal had his revenge on National champion A. D. Peoples by clinching the gold with a 134 out of 150. Three shooters were tied for the second place with 132, but Peoples and Arozepal Singh Sandhu got the silver and bronze with tie-shoot scores of four and three respectively.
Mairaj Ahmed Khan shot an impressive 23 out of 25 in the final like Naveen, but had to be content with the fourth spot as he was the first to be out of the tie-shoot on losing the second bird.
Shagun Chaudhary and Arti Singh won the women's trap and skeet events respectively. Since there were only three entrants in these events, the bronze medal was not given. In women's double trap, there were only two competitors and thus only the gold was awarded.
