PANAJI: Omkar A. Nehete set a new record in 50m breaststroke in boys’ Group IV, as Maharashtra took its tally to nine gold, six silver and six bronze in the 26th sub-junior National aquatic championship here on Wednesday.

Nehete’s timing of 00:39:99 erased the record set by Viraj Prabhu last year.

Aakanksha Vora (200m IM) and Avantika Chavan (50m freestyle) in girls’ Group III were the other gold medal winners for Maharashtra on the second day. — PTI
