London: V.V.S. Laxman made a fine century (113, 254b, 14 fours) to put Lancashire in a strong position, in the crucial county championships, against Warwickshire.

Incidentally, this is the fourth hundred Laxman registered for his county.

Warwickshire was all out for 148 on the first day in its first innings and in reply, Lancashire made 325 for seven wickets.
