Srinivasan of Tuticorin in the men's singles event of the Madurai Union Club's 21st annual State-level tennis tournament at the Club courts here on Thursday.

Sakthivel bowls well

S. Sakthivel's five for 14 helped Gandhigram Rural University chalk out a 29-run victory over Sri Krishna Polytechnic College (Batlagundu) in the Dindigul district colleges' cricket league for the RVS Trophy, organised by DDCA in association with RVS College of Engineering, at Dindigul on Thursday.

Vijaya Kumar shines

A brace by Arockia Vijaya Kumar helped Annai Football Club defeat Murugan Memorial Club 2-1 in the Dindigul District Football Association nursery league at NMM HSS ground on Thursday. Ilangovan scored for Murugan.

In another match, Royal Football Club (Batlagundu) drew with Dudley Football Club 1-1. Mahendran scored for Dudley while Loganathan scored for Royal.

Though one match between Rockfort Club and Solar Club remains to be played in this league, the following top four teams have qualified for the super-league: PSNA Club (10), St. Mary's Club (10), Sun Sports Club (8) and Rockfort Club (7 - one match to go).

District-level karate

RDHA triumphs

Host Ramanathapuram District Handball Association won the title in the State-level handball tournament, defeating Tamil Nadu Police (Chennai) 15-10 in the final at Ramanathapuram recently.

In the semifinals, Ramanathapuram beat Madurai 14-6 and Tamil Nadu Police beat Kancheepuram 15-10.
