: KSEB won the title in the inaugural Stag all-India women's basketball tournament at the Central stadium on Thursday.

KSEB defeated Central Railway, Mumbai 74-59 in the last league match to remain unbeaten in the four team league. Central Railway came second in the competition with two wins.

S.S.Anjana (32) was the architect of KSEB's win in the crucial match against Central Railway. KSEB led from the start and effectively baulked Central Railway's raids with good man–to-man marking. The KSEB players were sharp in their rebound collection and Anjana scored baskets from all possible angles.

KSEB led by seven points at end of half-time but Central Railway, led by its prolific scorer Manisha S.Dange, rallied briefly and came within a point of forcing a tie. However, KSEB upped the ante in the fourth quarter to come out deserving winners.

On Wednesday night, KSEB edged out South Central Railway 65-61 to record its second win.

In men's section, Central Excise Kochi scored its second straight win with a 84-76 win over BSNL.
