THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Electricity Board has recruited 15 sportspersons to its volleyball and basketball teams this year. KSEB had stopped recruitment for sometime following the State Government's recruitment ban.

KSEB teams in volleyball and basketball were on a terminal decline following the retirement of a few stalwarts and lack of adequate replacements. The recruitment ban was lifted on insistence of Electricity Minister A.K. Balan.

KSEB recruited international Monish Wilson, T.S. Abhilash and K.G. Shyam to strengthen its men's basketball team. International Simi Jose Kavalakkad, S.S.Anjana, Sonia Joseph, Litta Mahtew, Seena Joseph, Nimmi Thomas were selected to the women's basketball team.

KSEB roped in international K.G. Rakesh , H. Najeeb, Shyam Thomas, P.M. Savad, P.P. Vipin and P.Danish to its men's volleyball team.

KSEB is the defending champion in basketball and football in the all-India electricity board competitions. Principal Correspondent
