Kongu Engineering College (Perundurai) edged out PSG Tech ‘A’ 7-6 in tie-breaker to emerge champion of the seventh Tech hockey league at the PSG College of Technology grounds here on Saturday.
Kongu took home the Major Dhyan Chand Memorial Trophy and a cash award of Rs. 3,000 and PSG, the Claudius Dias Rolling Trophy and Rs. 2,000.
Government College of Technology fashioned a 5-4 win, via tie-breaker, against a fighting Coimbatore Institute of Technology for the third place.

A. Arun Kumar finished on top in the 15.5km race for men in the CIT mini-marathon here on Saturday. A. Saranya did likewise in the 5km event for women.

NPT in final
Nachimuthu Polytechnic (NPT), Pollachi, defeated Kumaran Polytechnic (Tiruvannamalai) by five wickets and entered the final of the inter-polytechnic cricket tournament for the PIE Tech Trophy at the Pollachi Institute of Engineering and Technology grounds on Saturday.
Nachimuthu will now take on SCAD Polytechnic (Tirunelveli), which scored a two-wicket win over Bharath Polytechnic (Tiruchengodu).
