Vinay triumphs

M. Vinay Kumar won the 100th district chess championship by garnering six points from as many rounds at Patamata Indoor stadium here on Monday. Potluri Supreetha and T. Dhiren, with five points apiece, took the second and third places respectively.

Volleyball trials

The trials to select the junior boys and girls Krishna District volleyball teams will be held IGMC stadium at 1.30 p.m. on November 21. The selected teams will take part in the junior inter-district championship at Tenali from November 29 to December 2.

Krishna bags title

The Krishna District taekwondo girls’ team garnered 20 points to win the overall championship in the A.P State-level rural PYKKA tournament held at A. P. Sports School, Hakimpeta, on Sunday. The district teams won two gold and six bronze medals. N. Lavanya Lakshmi Chandana and G. L. Krishna Sri were selected to represent AP State team for National PKKKA event held at Thiruvananthapuram from December 27 to 31.

The results: Girls: N. Lavanya Lakshimi Chandana (44+) gold, G. L. Krishna Sri (55+) gold, P. Archana Devi (44- ) bronze, K. K. Sathya Priyanka (47+) bronze.
