Ernakulam: KCA XI was in command against North Zone on the second day of the Under-16 inter-zonal cricket tournament at the Palace Oval here on Saturday.

KCA XI collapsed from its overnight score of 90 for one to 186 but still managed to take a 24-run first innings lead. Central Zone in its second innings was struggling at 137 for seven at stumps.

At the KRL ground, Central Zone dismissed South Zone for 188 in its first innings and grabbed a 20-run lead. Vishnu N. Babu (five for 48) and Nibin Babu (four for 50) did the damage. At stumps Central Zone had further increased its lead to 185 runs after scoring 165 for five in the second innings.

North Zone 162 and 137 for seven in 55 overs (P. Vishnu 46, Mohd. Famiz three for 16) vs KCA XI 186 in 76 overs (C.S. Shafin 63, Vysakh 44, Fabid Farooq four for 51).
