: Karnataka, trailing in the first innings by 168 runs, was struggling at 119 for five against Delhi at close on the third day of the four-day Vijay Merchant Trophy (under-16) quarterfinal here on Friday.

In another quarterfinal, Tamil Nadu was 255 for nine in reply to Madhya Pradesh’s 331.

The scores: Karnataka 185 and 119 for five in 57.1 overs (Ankith Udupa 56 not out, Sumit Mathur three for 47). Delhi 353 in 125.5 overs (Himmat Singh 163, Nitin Tanwar 61, Adhoksh Hegde four for 66, Vyshank V. Kumar three for 70).

Madhya Pradesh 331 in 141.5 overs (Yash Dubey 68, Arjun Patel 64, Maan Dubey 62, Krishna Soni 33, M. S. Washington Sundar three for 24, R. Sai Kishore three for 119).
