Karnataka batsmen had some good practice on the final day as their Ranji Trophy Super League Group ‘B' match against Haryana ended in a draw at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal cricket stadium here on Saturday.

After conceding the first innings lead, Karnataka was 409 for the loss of eight wickets in its second essay.

Haryana got three points on the basis of gaining the first innings lead, while Karnataka managed just one.

K.B. Pawan, resuming at 31, played with patience to score 80 (210b, 270m, 8x4, 1x6).

He put up an 84-run partnership with Robin Uthappa, who hit a quick 42 (49b, 81m, 2x4, 1x6).

Amit Verma reached his third first class century (103 not out, 140b, 224m, 14x4, 3x6), while Manish Pandey (55, 87b, 89m, 8x4) and Sunil Joshi (50, 65b, 97m, 7x4, 1x6) also boosted their confidence by spending time in the middle.

Joshi, in the meanwhile, crossed 4000 runs in Ranji Trophy and 5000 runs in first class matches. For the home team, the young spinner duo of Yuzvender Chahal and debutant Yatharth Tomar provided some hope.

With no pressure of expectation on them, they had the luxury of trying out things while operating in tandem.
