Top-seeded Karman Kaur from Delhi made a stirring comeback to beat Tamil Nadu’s Ramya Natarajan in the girls’ singles final at the Adidas-TTT junior (under-14) National clay court tennis championship here.
After losing the first set 3-6, Karman found herself 0-40, 5-6 down in the second set. Faced with three match points, Karman held her serve magnificently and won the subsequent tie-break 7-5.
The top seed’s successful fightback unquestionably changed the match’s momentum in her direction and she went on to win the final set 6-2. In the boys’ singles final, West Bengal’s Nitin Kumar Sinha easily overcame fifth seed Aryan Goveas from Maharashtra in straight sets. Sinha, the 10th seed, broke Goveas early in the opening set to go 3-1 up and then broke him again to win the set 6-2. Sinha broke his opponent at the beginning of the second set and eventually took the match 6-2, 6-2.

Boys singles: Nitin Kumar Sinha (WB) bt Aryan Goveas (Mah) 6-2, 6-2.
