HYDERABAD: The India ‘A’ women’s team offered the host the lone but lean hope of a quarterfinal berth in the Asian beach volleyball championship at the Necklace Road courts on Friday. It still has to win against two more sides to make the grade.

Making it to the men’s semifinals were Indonesia ‘A’ and Iran ‘A’, while New Zealand and China ‘B’ reached the quarterfinals. In women’s section, Thailand ‘A’ and New Zealand ‘A’ made the last eight stage.
