India clinched nine more medals, including six golds, to take its medals tally to 48 on the third day of the Commonwealth weightlifting championships at Penang, Malaysia on Wednesday.
K. Shireesha and Joti Mal swept all the three gold on offer in the junior women 58kg and youth girl 58kg categories respectively.
Sireestha lifted 73kg in snatch and 95kg in clean and jerk for a total of 168kg while Joti Mal had a total of 160kg (70kg+90kg). Minati Sethi fetched three bronze medals in the senior women 58kg as she lifted 180kg (80kg +110kg). — PTI
