NEW DELHI: The Indian girls lost the decisive doubles to Thailand as they narrowly missed the chance to top the group in the Asia-Oceania World junior under-14 girls' tennis tournament in Anqing, China, on Wednesday.

In the quarterfinals, the fourth-seeded India will play the host, the third-seeded China on the morrow. The other quarterfinals will feature Japan against Chinese Taipei, Korea against Thailand and Hong Kong against Australia.

The results: Thailand bt India 2-1 (Apiramon Nakhornkan lost to Rutuja Bhosale 4-6, 1-6; Praewpisuti Chinsakchai bt Sneha Devi Reddy 6-1, 6-2; Praewpisuti Chinsakchai and Apiramon Nakhornkan bt Rutuja Bhosale and Teertha Iska 5-7, 6-1, 7-5) .
