Indian boys defeated Philippines 3-0, dropping a mere nine games in all, in the second league match in Group B in the Asia-Oceania World junior under-14 tennis championship in Kuching, Malaysia, on Tuesday.

Second-seeded India, which had opened with an equally authoritative victory over Indonesia, will play seventh-seeded Korea on Wednesday.

Incidentally, all the other seeded teams — Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Australia and Chinese Taipei — were also placed comfortably in their groups, in the race for the knockout phase.

The results: Inida bt Philippines 3-0 (Alex Solanki bt Jan Godfrey Seno 6-0, 6-1; Nitin Kumar Sinha bt Jerome Romualdez 6-3, 6-1; Nitin Kumar & Solanki bt Arthur Craig Pantino & Seno 6-3, 6-1).
