India lost a close game against Chinese Taipei 60-61 and finished 10th in the second FIBA Asia under-16 boys' basketball championship in Vietnam on Thursday.

India led 34-31 at half-time and despite giving away the advantage in the third quarter, still had a 60-58 lead with just 20 seconds on the clock. But there was only disappointment in the end. Satnam Singh Bhamara, once again, was the team's top scorer with 29 points. Rakesh Bhauper was the next best with 10.

India had crushed host Vietnam 107-40 on Wednesday.

China and Korea will play for the title on Friday.

The results: Semifinals: China bt Japan 82-44; Korea bt Philippines 67-58.

For positions 9 & 10: Chinese Taipei 61 bt India 60 (Satnam Singh Bhamara 29, Rakesh Bhaupur 10).

Wednesday's match: India 107 (Loveneet Singh 20, Ajay Pratap Singh 20, Satnam Singh Bhamara 19, Rakesh Bhaupur 16) bt Vietnam 40 .
